At the start of 2025, Hakka Television faced a daunting challenge: the upcoming historical drama 'Under the Stardust Black Tide Island' features the set of Green Island's 'New Life Guidance Office', which cost 60 million NT dollars and is planned to be dismantled after filming.

The lavishly created filming location is not just a backdrop; it is also a meticulous reconstruction of an important historical memory of Taiwan. How can the carefully recreated scenes be preserved beyond the wrap-up? More importantly, how can the scenery be not just rebuilt but also promote the series and convey the story and values behind it?

Facing this challenge, Hakka Television cooperated with the professional digital curation team Artogo to reconstruct the scenes and invited experience design experts Polish™ to jointly develop a solution.

How did this transnational remote team spanning Taiwan, Japan, and Australia successfully transform these physical scenes, which were to disappear, into permanently preserved digital assets, allowing audiences to break through time and space constraints to explore on-screen scenes and deeply understand this history again?

II. Redefine Promotional Websites with Gamified Experiences

Due to Hakka Television's emphasis on rigorous historical presentation, not only aiming to preserve scenes through the website but also to fully present the plot, historical materials, and characters. Polish™ adopted a different approach from traditional promotion, introducing a 'gamified exploration' experience model. By changing the way audiences interact, the website becomes an extension of the drama's worldview, not just a promotional tool.

III. Technological Challenges and Breakthroughs: Achieving the Impossible Amidst the Fog of War and Time Pressure

From the start of filming to the website going live, the team had only two months, facing challenges not just with creative breakthroughs but severe tests of technology and time.

The most challenging aspect was having to synchronize with the production while planning and designing—meaning the initial materials were only textual scripts and heavily reliant on the progress rhythm of the series. The design team could only view the full scale after the series was published, enabling deeper design and comprehensive content sorting.

Additionally, since 360-degree panoramic technology can only be applied indoors and not cover outdoor scenes, there was an urgent need for complementary solutions to connect different scenes and ensure the continuity of user experience.
